BIO
At the age of only eighteen, Tyler King has accomplished things that some people only dream of accomplishing. Recording a world-class record that rivals country music’s top artists and is just one of the many great achievements made by this young singer/songwriter. Tyler’s debut album titled, “You Complete Me,” was released in December 2009.
Tyler has grown up in the small town of Wann in northeast Oklahoma. His whole life has been filled with singing and music for as long as he can remember. At the age of four, Tyler recalls belting out Tim McGraw’s “It’s Your Love” for his family at home. “I would stand up, grab a remote or a pen for a makeshift microphone, and just start singing while my mom recorded me with the camcorder,” Tyler says. Ever since then, he has loved being in the spotlight. Any chance he had to sing for someone, he would take. Tyler largely credits where he is today to having a family that constantly made it a point to encourage him to keep singing and dream big.
When Tyler first met Larry Brockway and Rodney Lay in July 2008, he had no idea what was in store for him and his career. Larry and Rodney both saw great promise and potential in the then fifteen-year-old singer. They asked Tyler if he wrote his own songs. Tyler replied with an optimistic, “No, but I can try.” Less than a week later, Tyler came back to them with the song that would soon draw him some major attention, “You Complete Me.” The two were amazed at how quick Tyler had picked up songwriting. Tyler soon was on track to having his first record produced. Starting in September 2008, Tyler, alongside Larry, Rodney, a few players from Nashville, and countless other people, worked on recording his debut album. After it was polished off at the studio in Kansas, it was sent to Nashville to be mastered by industry veteran, Richard Dodd. Finally in the spring of 2009, after many long days and sleepless nights, the record was complete.
After some time spent preparing, the physical record was independently released on December 12, 2009 at a CD release party at Hastings Music Store in Bartlesville. Hundreds of Tyler's friends, family, and fans came out along with two local radio stations, in support of the start of this teen's career. Tyler spent the rest of the month out promoting his album. A live TV interview and performance at a Tulsa news station and an interview with Tulsa radio legend Billy Parker along with surprise guest Roy Clark are just a couple of the great opportunities given to Tyler. And then, in January 2010, the album was released on iTunes and other major internet music stores.
Currently, Tyler is performing in Oklahoma and the surrounding states and is quickly gaining notoriety in his region as an up-and-coming country music entertainer. With a solid band behind him, Tyler brings life to the stage and his audiences. "There's no better feeling in the world than looking out in the crowd and watching people sing along to a song I wrote," he says. "The lifestyle of an entertainer is a lot of hard work, but when there are people waiting around after a show to get my autograph on a t-shirt or CD, it just makes it all worth it."
